Cloud engineer

Are you passionate about cloud technologies and feel the real urge to design a robust data platform following CI/CD guidelines? Then you are the right fit for our function as cloud engineer!

As a cloud engineer you are responsible for:

• Selecting the right cloud components and infrastructure based on the clients needs and current stack
• Setting up the infrastructure
• Constructing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Combining data from multiple sources in an efficient and performant manner
• Setting up a monitoring and alerting system
• Advising the clients (business analysts, data scientists) on the correct usage of their data

Wished requirements:

• Knowledge of at least one major cloud infrastructure vendor such as Azure, AWS, GCP, …
• Knowledge of a Unix environment
• Knowledge of Airflow, Apache Beam, …
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD and testing
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift

Nice to have (plus):

• Knowledge of Python (Pandas, NumPy,…) and PySpark (data loads, transformation (ETL/ELT))
• Knowledge on how to build a Data Lake (HDFS, Hive, Parquet, Delta)
